Heffalumps and Heffalump Seals

More observational drawing from webcams around the world

And some cartoony doodles of my flatmate- not technically wildlife- but close enough ;) - wait til she reads this, haha

Obervational Drawing- sort of

I'll admit it, I don't find people as interesting to draw as animals. And since there are no gazelle or even a stray rabbit bouncing along the street where I live, I very often sit on real time wildlife webcams on rainy days with my sketchbook and draw whatever happens to appear.

Some are from zoos, others from wildlife preserves in Africa and South America.

Last Life Drawing of the Semester 2012

I love life drawing. I can't believe one semester has gone already. Time sure flies. But if this one has gone this fast, the next can only go faster. And before you know it- life drawing will be over for good. That will be a terribly sad day when I wake up on a Thursday and realise I'm not going to Reinhard's class :(

Dundee Sunset

Its not often in Dundee that I find reason to take photos. After university yesterday, I had a few errands to run. I had just made it to the upstairs of the Overgate when I saw the light and how good it was getting. It was also one of those rare occasions in which I had my camera with me. So, after agonising on whether I should go take photos, or get errands- I didn't have time for both- I dropped what I was planning to buy and set off to somewhere without a skyline as fast as possible. I ended up at the Discovery.
Sunsets like that sooth my inner pining country girl.

Kelpie Film Background Work

I realise that this blog this semester my personal blog has looked a bit sparse. Its because I've been uploading my work to film blogs instead of also copying the posts to my own blog. Well, I'm righting that now!

Starting with the original layout that Sami drew

And here is the final render until I know exactly where all the other characters are going to be

Aphid annoyances

I don't usually draw people. But it seems, whenever I'm annoyed with my life, cartoon me appears on the scene.

I did this first one a year ago on a particularly bad day

My flat is currently suffering from an infestation of aphids. My friend suggested the solution to getting rid of them, was to dress up as a ladybird and shout abuse, til they fled in terror. This method has yet to be tested.

Still, it inspired doodles of myself, my friend and my flatmate all featuring in the ladybird costume, shouting abuse at the little criminals.

Damn aphids...
