Christmas light up fireworks

Was happily facebooking when I heard the booms outside of fireworks
Ran through to the kitchen to see that I hadn't missed them. I lent out the window with
my flatmates to 'ooh' and 'aah' at them
The first proper fireworks I've seen all year. I missed Bonfire night due to a megabus being a mega pain.
First time ever successfully taking photos of fireworks.

Doodle time is zombie time

Meh
not that great, but its at least being more productive than watching rubbish
on youtube all night. I need to work on my clouds and backgrounds bad.

This is how not to write an essay

Essay? Nah.. drawing? YES

This is why I will never be an author.

I can't wait for Christmas. So close! I also can't wait to get home. Its meant to be
another cold cold winter, and I love the snow- you'd never have guessed.

Yes I KNOW I draw too many cats. They just inspire me, and I might as well learn how to
paint and draw better with something I get a lot of enjoyment out of. Then I can apply the
knowledge to other things when the time/inspiration comes.

Doodles that keep me up til 4am

I started this last night at around 12 oclock. I'd had a drawing urge most of the night.
So I started it, and thought, if I can just sketch it out, I'll leave it after that.
So after I sketched it, I couldn't think to stop just there so I put it into the computer through
photoshop. I started the base colours and whatnot (I still can't find my TABLET PEN! Arggh)
and when 2am came around I was still WIDE awake. But, I resisted and went back to bed like
a good art student with classes at half 9- up at half 8 the next day.

But I couldn't stop thinking. And I wanted to finish it so badly. But I resisted, I stayed in bed.
I finally got to sleep around 4am. Stupid or what.
Continued it in the morning. Finished it mostly around dinner time.
Added the last details just now. And tada.
No whiskers, because I can't find my tablet pen.

Doodletime

Yay! This is the first time in a while I've actually wanted to draw something for
myself outside of the animation studio. Jeesh.
This was a fun doodle- despite the fact that I've lost my graphics tablet pen. So this was all coloured
by hand. Eek. Santa will probably be getting a letter asking  for a new tablet for Christmas.

Life Drawing Friday 5th &12th November

I'm getting lazy with this. I forgot to do it last week, although the 5th's drawings weren't all that great. It was a bad week for that.
Last Friday wasn't so bad.
I would put more on but its saying the server is rejecting them for some reason. Odd. Anyways
Top two are from Friday the 5th, bottom two are from the 12th

Part 1 of my flour sack animation finished

Dun dun DUN
Quite pleased I got this first layout sheet finished as fast as I did.
It still needs some changes but the majority of it is there.

Floursack animatic and daft things

This is my VERY ROUGH animatic for what I'm planning to do for my floursack brief.
Backflips and all sorts happening

And this is my new avatar for deviantart
You really can't tell
I made it in all of 5 minutes... :O

Will have to make a better one when I'm not having to animate flour sacks

Lack of creativity

Total lack of creativity happening tonight, despite the fact that I've really been in the mood to draw or make something.
This is all that came out... brain not cooperating

Life Drawing Friday 29th October

These have all been recoloured in photoshop because my blue animator pencil that I drew and shaded them in didn't show up well by the photograph.

This post is late because I was away in Glasgow over the weekend and I had a megabus to catch straight after life drawing. It was a scrape to get there on time.

I was quite pleased with my drawings this time. What annoys me with life drawing is that we have to work as fast as possible all the time. We aren't given the time to sit and do detailed studies. I love getting the model's likeness into the drawing as much as possible through portraits.
Its hard to gauge if I have improved overall since last year's life drawing classes back in first year. I hope I have.
Below are detailed studies over a few hours each from first year.

I was especially proud of this one of Douggie

This man was a fireman who came in to pose for a self portrait, he was lit from below.

This model was placed in a corner with a projection over-laid onto his body.
